Julia Lee at Pig & Whistle, April 28, 2018

Julia Lee Bare Soul.

Local singer/songwriter Julia Lee’s true passion is singing and writing lyrics and melody in her own “Americana” style. She grew up in a music business family, sings and plays guitar and loves traditional instruments such as the fiddle, El Cajon drum box, and dobro guitar.

Growing up, Lee listened to thousands of albums and studied the lyrics of most of the greatest pop singers. She attended Grove School of Music for four years, toured Japan as a background singer with the Ventilators and was often called into Michael Jackson’s studio to sing background vocals.

As an entrepreneur she now wears both business and artistic hats with her own label, Crow Records, and has support with international distribution and marketing.

Currently, Lee is working on her album, Bare Soul, scheduled to be released in June on Crow Records, when she’ll take off on a “Highway One” promotion tour from San Diego to San Francisco and everywhere in between.

Until then, she plays at venues in Los Angeles and Nashville and will be performing at the Pig ‘N Whistle in Hollywood on Saturday, April 28, with special guests Keith Miles and Grace Ann, who also plays with pop artist, Kesha. Lee goes on at 8:30 p.m. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. and continues throughout the night with a variety of guests on Confession Saturday.

Julia Lee has worked hard to get where she is now and believes that, “When you pound hard enough you leave a dent.”

The Pig ‘N Whistle, located at 6714 Hollywood Blvd, Los Angeles, is one of the few remaining staples that still offers a true taste of “Old Hollywood.” Since 1927, the Pig ‘N Whistle has remained a cultural landmark, with the world famous Egyptian Theatre next door where stars such as Shirley Temple, Cary Grant, and Jane Wyman came to enjoy meals before their lavish movie premiers. www.pignwhistlehollywood.com (323) 463-0000.
