5G Free California Fights Back with Lawsuits

Opponents of 5G are initiating legal action against the proposed installation of one-million antennas to pick up signals from more than 50,000 satellites blanketing the earth, leaving no place on the planet without a signal. They are also fighting the installation of 5G broadband technology in California’s schools during the coronavirus quarantine.

On March 23, President Trump signed into law S. 893, the “Secure 5G and Beyond Act of 2020” (the “Act”).

“The Act requires the President to develop and implement a strategy for the adoption of secure wireless communications technology in the United States and abroad,” the bill states. “The strategy will protect the American people from security threats to telecommunications networks and 5G technology.”

This law could increase international security, for “as part of the strategy, Section 4 of the Act purports to require the President to engage in international diplomacy in order to share information and pursue policy goals specified by the Congress.”

In direct response, Bloomberg News reported that Defense Secretary Mark Esper has asked the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to deny Ligado, a Virginia wireless company’s license to provide 5G mobile broadband service out of “national security, civil service, and the economic benefit of the nation” concerns.

The report states that Esper wrote in a March 23 letter to FCC Chairman Ajit Pai, “There are too many unknowns and the risks are far too great to federal operations to allow Ligado’s proposed system to proceed. This could have a significant negative impact on military operations, both in peacetime and war. I, therefore, strongly oppose,” Esper concluded, adding that the proposed service had “the potential for widespread disruption and degradation of GPS services” that rely on signals from space.

Esper’s letter was released March 25 by the Pentagon, according to Bloomberg News, and the FCC is not bound by the recommendation.

Therefore, in what appears to be an accelerated effort by the president and the FCC to roll out 5G broadband across the United States “for security purposes,” citizen groups are organizing against what they feel is a dangerous technology that could harm the planet.

“This is an $11 trillion-a-year industry off the sale of our data,” said Julie Levine, President and Coordinator of the Topanga-based 5G-Free California. “A lot of people are invested in this.”

According to 5G Free California, telecoms such as Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, Spectrum Mobile, and SpaceX will benefit as they seek approval from the FCC to blanket the planet with millions of antennas.

For some people, especially for those who are electro-magnetic sensitive, this is nothing short of a nightmare scenario as they experience headaches, dizziness, and nausea in the presence of Wi-Fi technology.

“I am personally investing my savings in lawsuits aimed at halting the rollout of 5G, including the densification of 4G antennas,” Levine said. “5G-Free California is a party to these actions and front and center of this fight-back effort.”

Saving the Skies from SpaceX: 5G-Free California, along with Healthy Heavens Trust Initiative, will file legal action against a blanket license to Elon Musk and SpaceX to install one-million earth stations (antennas) by the FCC to permit 50,000 low-orbit non-stationary satellites. This follows an already filed lawsuit challenging FCC’s 30-year-old obsolete standards and exposure limits which, according to the lawsuit, they have failed to upgrade.

Keeping 5G out of Public Schools: In a recent notice from 5G-Free California, “Governor Gavin Newsom just issued an emergency order to accelerate broadband Internet “upgrades” (presumably 4G/5G) in schools.

On March 19, Gov. Newsom’s office issued a statement on the subject: “With schools closed across the state and teachers struggling to implement online and alternative learning programs, the governor also asked for an expansion of technology investments for schools, an increase in Title I funding for schools with a high concentration of poverty, broadband internet upgrades, and grants for teachers to adapt to digital-age instruction…and more money for the U.S. Department of Agriculture Child Nutrition Programs.”

To clarify, broadband includes wireless and wired infrastructure.

Opposing the action, 5G-Free California, Moms Across America, and the Children’s Health Defense (CHD), issued a statement in protest: “Unfortunately, CA schools have been using wireless rather than safe wired networks and therefore we have a good basis to suspect that the announcement refers to wireless systems.”

On March 22, the CHD launched a letter-writing campaign against Gov. Newsom, stating “Please Do Not Deploy 5G Wireless Installations in Our Schools During Quarantine!” Earlier, the group reported that “Robert Kennedy, Jr., Chairman of the CHD, is committed to be proactive on the concerns regarding excessive exposure of our children to 5G and wireless radiation.

“To fulfill this promise, CHD submitted a lawsuit on February 2, 2020, against the FCC for its December 4, 2019 decision to decline to review its 1996 guidelines and for its determination that the guidelines are protective of human health. The Dec. 4 determination provides a rare opportunity to sue the FCC and expose its disregard for public health that has been causing so many injuries and deaths, including among children,” the lawsuit stated. “We will be representing the many children who have been injured. This is the opportunity we have been waiting for; a successful lawsuit on this will be a game changer.”

Creating a 5G Free California: “A 5G cell tower is very likely to cause major harm to our environment, animals, children, and ourselves,” said Levine. “Like gas leaks, its invisible electro current (electromagnetic frequencies) is very real and can contaminate our bodies and habitat, destroy our natural algorithms, damage our DNA even at non-thermal levels, and lower our immunity against viruses and cancers.”

5G-Free California says they always need people to set up and attend legislative meetings and help circulate information on email and social media, help with finding lawyers, help with funding for lawyers, disseminating handouts, guerrilla art, continued outreach to celebrities, media, schools, parents, realtors, medical professionals and the public.

In addition to Topanga, 5G-Free California includes eleven other “Stop 5G” groups from Los Angeles to Santa Barbara. 5G-Free California is also part of the national network, “5G Crisis,” and is working with “WorldShift Stop 5G” internationally.

The next 5G Free California meeting is scheduled for Thursday, May 7 at 7 p.m., either at the Inn of the Seventh Ray restaurant or online via Zoom. If the meeting is online, please contact Julie Levine at (310) 455-9389 or email juliemagic2010@gmail.com for the Zoom meeting ID and password. The April 25 protest is yet to be determined.

  1. Agree with Bill, I cannot find the Bloomberg report this author cited, Miss Donkin could you provide a like to this Bloomberg report? As Bill points out, the Esper language in this article is straight out of the Nov DoD letter….

  2. Anne, where is the March Bloomberg report you are citing? I agree with Bill, this looks like grossly inaccurate and misleading reporting…

  3. Annemarie can you please provide a link to the Bloomberg report you cite, the quotes you have in here are the exact same as the DoD letter from Nov 2019, thanks.

  4. 5G not needed it is dangerous in many ways. The worst danger in my eyes are energy signals that will blanket the earth and harm our planet and it’s people.

  5. I agree with the other comments around this story being inaccurate as it relates to Ligado. 5G Free California and this website should actually be big proponents of Ligado, as the Company will actually REDUCE the need for new cellular base stations for 5G. Attorney General Bill Barr actually spoke recently about C+L, pairing Ligado’s L-Band with C-band to radically reduce the amount of cell sites required for 5G. The honorable Dan Golden (former and longest standing NASA head in history / rocket scientist/ signal processing expert) also writes about it in a WSJ op-ed (https://www.wsj.com/articles/keep-5g-safe-from-chinese-domination-11580342112). 5G is happening, there is no stopping it fortunately or unfortunately.. but fortunately Ligado can help reduce base-stations which should be GREAT NEWS to 5G Free Cali!!!!
