Art and Wine. Allied Artists at the Rosenthal Wine Bar and Patio
September 8 @ 11:00 am - 6:00 pm
Join the Allied Artists of the Santa Monica Mountains and Seashore in supporting the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area and local conservation efforts on Sunday September 8, 2019 from 11AM to 6PM at the Rosenthal Wine Bar and Patio, 18471 Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu CA 90265. The group will present an art exhibit and sale featuring many local artists displaying original representational landscapes and seascape paintings of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. Fine wine tasting, music, snacks and a food truck will be onsite to make the art viewing a special event in the beautiful outdoor garden patio. Rosenthal Wine Bar & Patio provides enthusiasts with wines of uncommon breeding that delight the senses and connect them to our unique local Malibu location in Newton Canyon.
The Allied Artists of the Santa Monica Mountains was founded over 20 years ago to paint and preserve the unique natural beauty of the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area (SMMNRA). The 156,000-acre recreation area stretches from Runyon and Franklin Canyons in Hollywood to Point Mugu State Park in Ventura County and contains over 500 miles of trails including the 67-mile long backbone trail that follows the crest of the coastal mountains from Will Rogers State Historic Park to Point Mugu State Park.
The AASMS provides information, environmental education and conservation through art and public service. The members of Allied Artists organize exhibitions of their paintings in order to raise money and increase public awareness of the endangered land that they depict in their paintings. They collaborate with local, state and national agencies to present several art shows a year in local and natural settings in and around the recreation area.
The Allied Artists group also sponsors free monthly paint-outs on the second Saturday of the month at various locations throughout the recreation area. The free paint outs provide a unique opportunity for anypainter to enjoy a sense of camaraderie and are a great way to see the beauty of the natural environment. A painting demonstration and friendly critique are usually held at the paint-outs. The free paint-outs are from 9AM to 1PM and are open to any artist and any media and at any skill level. Contact the allied artists at http://allied-artists.com for more information about membership, paint outs and upcoming art shows.
