Topanga Historical Society Quarterly Event Invitation
When: Wednesday, January 29, 2020
Where: Topanga Community House, 1140 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd, Topanga, CA 90290

8 P.M. Presentation: Begins promptly.
John MacNeil has been surveying land in Topanga since 1969. He is an expert on the history of local development, and will talk about how our canyon’s uniqueness was shaped by its quaint cottages, luxurious mansions, dog-lodgings, hidden bordellos, pristine valleys, picturesque peaks, and cozy creek-side nooks.
Come eat, laugh, listen, and learn about how Topanga land has been developed and how our unique community and geography have helped protect Topanga from homogenization. We’re a wild band of nature-loving canyon-dwellers and we like it that way!
The Topanga Story (new expanded edition), will be available for sale during the event but buy a raffle and a copy can be yours to win. Anyone who lives in or simply loves this magical canyon, needs a copy of The Topanga Story.
The potluck starts at 7 p.m. so please bring your best dish to share. The presentation begins at 8 p.m. THS will provide coffee, tea, and filtered lemon water, as well as serving utensils so bring something delicious, leave the serving spoon at home, and revel in the colorful history of our beautifully unique canyon community.
Become a Member: The quarterly programs are the perfect time to join the Topanga Historical Society, $20/year for individuals; $30 for families.
