January 30 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
An event every week that begins at 4:00 pm on Thursday, repeating until April 30, 2020
Bonjour Topanga and Neighbors!
Madame Coco is offering the following program this semester: Jan – April 2020
Tuesdays NEW Beginner’s Class 6-12 years old 4-5.30pm
Thursdays Beginner/Intermediary Class 8-12 years old 4-5.30pm
Thursdays Advanced 8 – 12 years old 5.30 – 6.30pm
Saturday Mixed Levels 6 – 12 years old 11 – 12.30pm
I offer a program of learning the French language through Storytelling, Theatre and Art. I hand-make our French books, that are filled with images, text and interactive art. We learn experientially through theatre, songs, storytelling, cooking, making art and performing.
This semester we will work from my own simplified version of LE PETIT PRINCE for Beginners, the artists CLAUDE MONET & EDOUARD MANET and their Nature paintings for the Intermediary and Advanced students, and nature and science vocabulary to enhance and expand all these themes.
We will go out in nature and create our own painter’s portraits to resemble the original paintings of these Impressionists. We will have a nature scrapbook in which we will assemble elements of nature. We will explore Madame Coco’s BOITE DE NATURE – nature box – in which she stores “la magie elementale”. We will paint Impressionist-style and visit local museums to gaze at the originals. We will compare MONET and MANET’s art and look through the lens of time at their cultural and social worlds.
