Holiday Sale for Creeks & Coast

Native Pacific Tree Frogs (Hyregilla) are the most abundant frog in the Santa Monica Mountains and are fantastic color shifters, green to copper depending on the surrounding area. Photo by Jayni Shuman

Do frogs and fish and turtles dance in your dreams? Is spending the day at the beach your idea of the best day ever?  Are you looking for a one-of-a-kind gift for a special someone who has everything?

On Sunday, December 2, from 1-4 p.m., find the gift you need at the Resource Conservation District (RCD) office.

Thanks to our amazing Stream Team photographers, especially Jayni Shuman and Steve Williams, we will have a wonderful selection of fantastic frogs, gnarly newts, splendid steelhead, and truly wonderful turtle photos for sale from $10-$30. We will also have the turtle adoption packets and an assortment of fun shells and miscellaneous beach treasures.

Best of all, local Topanga artist Catherine Tirr will be selling her beautiful cards and paintings of our local beaches and mountains. Her watercolors are breathtaking, and she is donating 10 percent of the proceeds to support the work of the RCD.

HELP RCD PROTECT AND RESTORE THE MOUNTAINS

For over 50 years, the RCD of the Santa Monica Mountains has been helping landowners protect and restore the Santa Monica Mountains. Donations support post-fire assessment and recovery, native pond turtle rescue and monitoring, removal of invasive species that harm our creeks, restoration of oak woodlands, water quality monitoring and improvement, and education programs for underserved students throughout Los Angeles.

We hope to see you on December 2, but you can also support our work through your tax-deductible contribution!
