An oft-visited hiking destination at the top of Tuna Canyon Park is being physically removed, Linnea Mielcarek reported on Topanga Nextdoor.

Workers with the Mountain Restoration and Conservancy Authority (MRCA) are removing the large rock design by hand and state that grading of Hearts Tank Mountain Way, the road leading to the labyrinth, and the labyrinth removal is required to provide proper fire department access.

The classical style labyrinth has been created by visitors over the years using a seed pattern by placing rocks end to end in outward flowing rings. It is a favorite spot for couples and families because of the expansive coastal views from the spot and the meditative experience of “walking the labyrinth.”
