LACoFD and LASD have deemed that conditions are still too unsafe to allow residents to return.
TCEP is working on getting information about when the canyon will be opened and will be meeting this afternoon with LACoFD and LASD Command to discuss repopulation.
Evacuation orders are not taken lightly. Safety for the community is the no. 1 priority. Evacuation orders are complex decisions and are not just a question of looking at fire & weather.
Here is information from TCEP (Topanga Coalition for Emergency Preparedness) as of 9am Tuesday, November 11 with
CONTINUED MANDATORY EVACUATIONS FOR:
Westlake Village-south of the 101
Agoura Hills – south of Agoura Rd from Chesebro to Lindero Cyn
Calabasas – entire city
Malibu – entire city
Hidden Hills – entire city
Topanga – entire canyon/community
Monte Nido – entire community
Malibu Lake – entire community
The following areas will be opened to residents and businesses beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning:
Fully reopen the City of Hidden Hills. This will include all residences within the city limits as follows:
• West of Valley Circle Boulevard
• East of Crummer Canyon Road, and
• North of the Interstate 101 Freeway to the northern city limits
The City of Calabasas will have limited areas reopened which will include:
• West of Topanga Canyon Boulevard
• Northwest of Mulholland Highway
• North of Stunt Road
• East of Las Virgenes Road
• East of the Lost Hills Road neighborhoods (including Lost Springs and Saratoga)
• South of the Los Angeles/Ventura County Line
*Per SoCal Edison, sections of the City of Calabasas may be without power at the time of the reopening of the area.
The City of Westlake Village will also have limited areas reopened as follows:
• City limits on the west, from the intersection of Westlake Boulevard and Sycamore Canyon Drive – north to the Ventura County and City of Agoura Hills boundaries.
The City of Agoura Hills will reopen its impacted areas from:
• Chesebro Road on the eastern border MEDIA RELEASE WOOLSEY FIRE UNIFIED COMMANDERS
• Agoura Road (north and south sides of the road) from Chesebro Road to the west.
To accomplish this process, The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is working with our public safety partners to open on-ramps and off-ramps of the Interstate 101 Freeway in the area. The Fire Incident Command continues to monitor the active fire areas, as well as those areas remaining closed due to critical infrastructure concerns or safety hazards.
