Canyon Sages Topanga’s only service organization designed for Topanga’s elders. The Sages create classes and activities for seniors and reach out to those isolated or in need. A senior classroom for the Sages was built this year at the Topanga Community Club.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES The Sages are seeking people with website
and social media skills to help manage their outreach; drivers to take
seniors to appointments; and, those who can assist in outreach to seniors
in need of services, including phone calls to those without email. They are
also looking for a grant writer working gratis or for low pay.
The Sages need you now. We want to hire a part-time director of activities and outreach to manage the new space. In order to do that, we need to find a Grant Writer, who can apply for money for the salary. We’re seeking an experienced grant writer, open to work for little or no pay, except the eternal gratitude of the senior community. We also need a Website Manager and leaders who will sign up to help run twice weekly open times at the new space. During each hour and a half, we plan to sip tea and coffee, play games, discuss current events and do whatever other activities our seniors request.
Of course, we’re always seeking people to help set up, cook and clean for our monthly dinners, drive isolated seniors to appointments and help on our other projects – from assisting with lectures at the library to organizing free clubs, like our weekly Fiber Arts and monthly Book Club.
