Global Climate Strike

On Friday, September 20, communities across the world will take to the streets for the 2019 Global Climate Strike. Events are scheduled through September 27 coinciding with the UN Climate Action Summit on September 23 in New York City. Demonstrators are demanding world leaders take action to address the climate change crisis by lowering greenhouse gas emissions and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.

Climate action organizers seek to expand on an ongoing series of student-driven climate strikes. If you’d like to show your support or get involved on a local level, there are several rallies currently planned for the Los Angeles area:

  • The Youth Climate Strike Los Angeles at LA City Hall on September 20 at 12 p.m.
  • USC Climate Strike on September 20th at 11:11 a.m.
  • Global Climate Strike LA in Pershing Square on September 27 at 4 p.m.
  • Long Beach Climate Strike at Admiral Kidd Park on September 20 at 7 a.m.
