Kidiwische Corner Summer Schedule

Hupa tribe member, Kat High, is resuming her local workshops in Native American culture and lore after and much-too-long hiatus. Join her at Kidiwische Corner beginning Sunday, July 14, Her summer schedule will also appear in the MMN Calendar for these workshops that will continue into the fall. Limited class size, RSVP required.

Sunday, July 14, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.—Bring your lunch and join Kat High’s Native American Workshop Revival at Kidiwische Corner in Topanga to learn about Native teas and sachets. $25, materials included. 

Sunday, July 28, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.—Bring your lunch and join Kat High for “Return of the Round Reed Basket” at Kidiwische Corner. $25, materials included. Limited space. RSVP required.

Sunday, August 11, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.—Bring your lunch and join Kat High to learn about the “Wonderful Willow”: Make a willow seedbeater and learn how to plant and care for willow trees. $25, materials included. Limited space. RSVP required.

Sunday, August 25, 11 a.m.-3 p.m.—Bring your lunch and join Kat High to learn how to make coiled yarn baskets. $25, materials included. Limited space. RSVP required.

 

Kat High is a Topanga resident and California native of Hupa descent, who teaches and holds workshops on traditional plant knowledge and customs of Chumash People, featuring talks, demonstrations, and crafts for kids. She is also a member of the California Indian Storytelling Association.
