Fernwood Rain Report – December 13, 2019

A series of gentle fall rainstorms have soaked into the chaparral to ease us into our 2019/2020 rain season, that started October 1, and has yielded a total of 3.79 inches of precipitation as of December 9.  So far, the rainfall rates have not produced any major flooding and only minimal runoff. This luxurious bath has provided a balm for the Santa Monica Mountains and her fire scars. Average rain for this date is 3.12 inches so we are running a little ahead of average (see chart). Santa Monica Pier has had 2.55 inches of rain so far this season and Woodland Hills has received 3.49 inches of precipitation.
