“The Case for Birth Control,” a Benefit for Planned Parenthood Los Angeles, written and presented by Inara George and Larry Goldings, is a night of songs inspire by the thousands of letters women wrote to Margaret Sanger begging for birth control. Tuesday, June 18, 8:30 p.m.

Larry Goldings is a Grammy-nominated pianist, keyboardist, composer, and songwriter. Among jazz enthusiasts, Goldings’ organ trio with Peter Bernstein and Bill Stewart has been recognized for charting new ground, with synergistic playing and hard-swinging yet thoughtful music. Goldings’ talents have been sought-after by an impressive range of musicians including James Taylor, Norah Jones, John Mayer, Madeleine Peyroux, Melody Gardot, Tracy Chapman, Rickie Lee Jones, Charlie Haden, Steve Gadd, Herbie Hancock, Sia, Christina Aguilera, Elton John, and Leon Russell. Larry’s most recent recording, Music From The Front Room, is a freshly untraditional piano trio outing, with Larry playing Steinway upright piano, and features David Piltch on bass, and Jay Bellerose on drums.
Inara George is a singer-songwriter and musician, one half of the band The Bird and the Bee, and one fourth of Los Angeles harmony super group, The Living Sisters, along with Eleni Mandell, Becky Stark, and Alex Lilly. Since 2006 Inara has released 14 albums with the above mentioned musical configurations starting with the critically acclaimed solo album All Rise, to her most recent release, Dearest Everybody (both albums were produced by Mike Andrews). This year Inara and Greg Kurstin are preparing to release a new the Bird and the Bee album.
