Topanga Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) mission is “to do the greatest good, for the greatest number of people” in the event of a major disaster in the canyon. CERT volunteers have been trained in disaster search and rescue, medical triage operations via a hands-on FEMA course. It has staged caches of emergency supplies and equipment throughout the canyon in each of the nine Topanga fire zones. CERT will also purchase base station radio equipment, restock existing caches with updated supplies.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES CERT provides free training at least once a year. The team meets monthly to continue training and practice drills. Please consider joining the team to help your community. Facebook.com and TopangaSurvival.org.
