Master singer-songwriter Peter Alsop brings his unique brand of Kids Koncert, to the Theatricum Stage on Saturday, October 12, 8-9:30 p.m.
The evening of concert and discussion addresses the question: “Can We Raise Our Sons, So Our Daughters Won’t Need #MeToo?”
On stage with Alsop is the nationally known duo, Pat Humphries and Sandy O., speaking and singing truth to power with their music.
“Sometimes we inadvertently pass on to our kids and grandkids the behaviors all of us have learned from growing up in a sexist, patriarchal culture,” says Alsop, who invites families to come with their kids and grandkids.
Special Guest Allen Corben, from Fuller Theological Seminary and Co-Chair of the National Organization for Men Against Sexism, will join Peter in a talk-back discussion about what Dads and Moms can do to help their sons grow up with a sense of why it’s important to care about others, especially the girls in their lives.
“We’ll sing songs and laugh and maybe cry as we cull through suggestions, ideas, and experiences that address this important issue,” says Alsop.
Tickets: $20 for adults; $15, Students/Seniors/Military. (310) 455-3723; or app.arts-people.com/index.php?show=107306
