“Ah, Topanga!”
YES!! So very, very grateful to be home!
We tell our cast that each performance and each year of our Topanga Nutcracker Ballet has its own identity, its own memories. This year is certainly no exception as we recall our evacuations, our worries, and our prayers. We send our love and gratitude to all the fire personnel who fought so bravely. We also take a moment to send comfort to those who lost their homes, and solemnly remember those who lost their lives.
In Topanga, we are blessed to gather with family and friends and celebrate our traditions together, remembering the joys of the season and cherishing those people and places around us.
This 38th Annual Topanga Nutcracker ballet will mark a beginning and a milestone as we welcome the amazing Harry van Gorkum in his debut year as our beloved “Uncle Drosselmeyer,” and the 25th anniversary for Joe Grassi, who will again bring joy as the “adorable” Mouse King and Mother Ginger.
Harry van Gorkum, like so many adults in our production, comes to Nutcracker as the father of two beautiful daughters, Poppy and Sophie, who are also debuting in their first year with Nutcracker. Harry, a veteran stage, TV, and big screen actor, shares his enormous talent, creativity and joyous spirit in his interpretation of the multi-dimensional role of Uncle Drosselmeyer. This is a not-to-be-missed performance.
We hope you will join us this year. Get your tickets early…we will sell out!
