A fundraiser is planned for Saturday, October 13, 4-8 p.m., to assist Claire Humphrey in her healing from breast cancer.
Claire moved to Topanga with her son. Louie, in 1993. In 2005, she was diagnosed with breast cancer, then again in 2012 when it metastasized. She worked as director of the Dan Eldon Center/Creative Visions offices for six years until 2015 when she became unable to work. She is about halfway through an alternative health program but requires more funds to finish the year-long program. About $8,000 has been raised, but another $11,000 is needed to complete the final months of this groundbreaking program.
“I am beyond blessed to belong to such a generous and caring community,” Claire says. She wants to thank everyone who has donated money and helped her along the way and invites the community to watch the sunset and “celebrate our gratitude and friendship.”
It promises to be a fun-filled celebration of love and support for Claire, with Nepalese food and drinks, local Topanga performers, and a silent auction.
The event will be held at the Dan Eldon Center for Creative Activism, 18820 Pacific Coast Highway, Suite 201, Malibu, CA 90265.
