James Stanley Catterall passed away on August 23, as UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center after suffering a heart attack and massive stroke compounded by multiple complications. His wife, Rebecca and his children were with him at his passing.
A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, September 16, at 10 a.m. at Will Geer’s Theatricum Botanicum.
The Theatricum is an outdoor theater where James attended plays and heard concerts. He also played the cello there with the Topanga Philharmonic and was a member of their advisory board. In addition, both of his daughters, Lisa and Hannah, studied Shakespeare and performed with the youth program. We love it there!
After the service, a light brunch will be served in the garden.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to one of the first arts organization James worked with and continued to work with for almost 20 years, Inner City Arts in downtown Los Angeles: www.inner-cityarts.org;. (213) 627-9621, ext. 111.
