TreePeople has partnered with the Resource Conservation District of the Santa Monica Mountains (RCDSMM ) to offer sustainable front yard retrofits. The new landscapes will save water, cut water bills, and reduce polluted runoff to local streams and the ocean.
While this event is for select Viewridge homes only, the community is invited to attend to learn about how they might implement these water- and cost-saving environmental practices in their own homes.
The new landscapes will include attractive, climate-appropriate plants and trees, as well as simple features to conserve and capture water such as drip irrigation, rain gutters, downspout extensions, rain tanks, French drains, and more.
Everything will be installed entirely free of charge and residents will be provided instructions and support on proper care of their new landscapes.
Join TreePeople and RCDSMM to learn more and take advantage of this unique opportunity. The evening will include a brief presentation on the value of rainwater capture, details about landscaping options, and the application process.
The event takes place Monday, July 23, 7-8 p.m.
