Topanga Actors Company (TAC) debuts the Ten-Minute Play Festival over the weekend of September 28-29 at 2 p.m. at the Topanga Library.
More than 600 submissions were considered that came from New York, Los Angeles, London, Chicago, and more. Fourteen pieces that range through a good mix of human emotion—drama, comedy, pathos, joy, tenderness, sarcasm—were selected. Seven 10-minute plays will be presented each day by directors and actors from Topanga and afar.
“It is heartening to know how many people are out there writing in the wide world and how generous our directors and actors are with their time,” say TAC founders Paula LaBrot and Judith Hendra. “Some of the writers are pros and some are amateurs, but all the selections have interesting emerging voices.”
It’s a theater lover’s adventure and an opportunity to meet the TAC cast and crew on the patio for refreshments and chat after the show.
Entry to the performances is free. Seating will be on a first-come-first-seated basis.
The Topanga Library is located at 122 N. Topanga Canyon Blvd., Topanga, CA 90290. For more information: (310) 455-3480; colapublib.org.
