This just in from Sheila Kuehl’s newsletter “Kuehl Happenings”
In just a few short days, with the help of many, many volunteers, LAHSA will roll out the 2020 Homeless Count. The Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count will be conducted on January 21, 22, and 23, and will cover every inch of LA County except the cities of Glendale, Pasadena, and Long Beach, which conduct their own counts.
Think seriously about signing up to help! Volunteering is safe, easy, and will make a huge difference in the fight against homelessness. You can volunteer in your own neighborhood, making this a great opportunity to give back to your community while you also help your neighbors experiencing homelessness. As a volunteer, you will participate in training and then walk through your designated areas in small groups. By volunteering, you will be helping to collect data that is critical in measuring our successes and failures, and critically important in informing the policies and allocating the funding needed to help fight our homelessness crisis.
Everyone counts, no matter where they live. Sign up for your local homeless count at theycountwillyou.org!
