Pablo Capra of Brass Tacks Press presents “Wet & Wild Topanga Style,” an art show and short-film event about the surf culture of Topanga Beach in the 1960s & ‘70s. Featured will be the surf photography and films of legend Grant Rohloff (“Wet & Wild”) and his son, Chris Rohloff (“Aloha Spirit”). Topanga Beach can boast of two other pioneering surf filmmakers, whose work will be shown: Scott Dittrich (“Fluid Drive”) and Hal Jepsen (“Cosmic Children”).
Bestselling Topanga Beach author, Norman Ollestad (“Crazy for the Storm”), and Pablo Capra’s Brass Tacks Press (“Topanga Beach Experience”) will have book signings. Food and drinks will be provided by sponsors Pizzanista! and Kona Brewing Co.
The photo exhibit continues through September 2.
The event is free, and takes place Saturday, August 25, 7-11 p.m., at the new Boardriders Malibu Surf Shop, 18820 Pacific Coast Hwy., 90265.
