Snow Night and community potluck will magically appear at Pine Tree Circle on Sunday, December 16, from 5-8 p.m., along with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Following Steve and Leslie Carlson’s tradition, the new owners of Pine Tree Circle will bring in 20 tons of “snow,” set up fire rings with lots of wood for atmosphere and a bit of warmth for those cold, wet hands.”
Tables for the potluck feast will be supplied with plates, plasticware and bottles of water, anticipating its transformation into a groaning board of home-made chili and other hearty comfort food. Everyone who comes to frolic in the snow is asked to bring something for themselves and more to share; not just chips and dips but hearty, old-fashioned comfort food like Vika and Kayvon of Pacific Canyon Drycleaners, who always make a pot of chili, and Linda Hinrichs and Randy Just, who bring another pot of chili and also help set up the event. Linda Jo Loftus is another generous local who always brings a huge sheet cake. Add your name to that list.
Doug Roy will arrange for the brass band playing songs of the season for a joyful sing- along and, since most of the shops and the Gallery at Pine Tree Circle stay open late that night, come prepared to eat hearty, hang out with your friends, and catch up on your holiday shopping. Locally!
