LA County Annual Homeless Count

Start 2019 with a simple act of kindness: Volunteer to participate in Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority’s (LAHSA) Homeless Count, January 22-24, a three-day mission to count our homeless neighbors all across LA County.

Every year, the county conducts a census of the homeless population through the Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count to better understand homelessness in the region and direct resources where they’re needed most. At least 8,000 volunteers are needed to canvas more than 80 cities and 200 communities across LA County. This crucial data helps LAHSA track our progress in the fight against homelessness and make informed decisions on how to distribute resources.

The Homeless Count needs volunteers in all areas of the Third District and beyond. Volunteering is safe, easy, requires no advanced training, and will make a big difference in the fight to end homelessness.

Register now at theycountwillyou.org, select an area and show up on January 22 at designated location and times. The suggested location for Topanga is St. Luke Lutheran Church, 5312 Comercio Way, Woodland Hills, (Limit: 65 volunteers), 7-10 p.m.

To select another area: Calabasas (Limit: 70 volunteers), 27040 Malibu Hills Rd., 7-10 p.m.; West Hills (Limit: 65 volunteers), 23838 Kitridge St., 8-11 p.m.; Canoga Park (Limit: 60 volunteers),7304 Jordan Ave., 7-10 p.m.; Pacific Palisades (Limit: 50 volunteers), 8 p.m.-midnight; Malibu (Limit: 120 volunteers), 3625 Winter Canyon Rd., 5-8 p.m.
