Six “Ladies of The Canyon,” will host a Pop-Up Holiday Art Sale, one day only, on Saturday, December 8, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring paintings, prints, photography, pottery, fused art glass and jewelry by local artists Robin Becker, Rebecca Catterall, Penny Chavez, Debbi Green, Zoe Topsfield, and Felice Willat.
This is a chance for early-bird shoppers to personalize their holiday gift-giving with unique, one-of-a-kind, small and large works of art by these extraordinary women.
Robin Becker hosts the event in her Old Canyon home studio on Bonnell Drive, where there is plenty of parking. She will offer a variety of styles and sizes of prints and original art from images she creates by combining mixed media photography and collage. Her work sets a mood that brightens any room it occupies. She will also exhibit her mixed media paintings. Prices start at $20. robinbeckerartist.com.
Ceramic artist Rebecca Catterall is busy in her studio throwing mugs, bowls, vases, and ceramic colanders to be ready for your holiday shopping. Her work is both functional and decorative and always appreciated by the recipient. Who couldn’t use a Buddha mug for the holidays? catterallceramics.com.
Penny Chavez will be showing her exclusive line of jewelry, lampworked glass beads created with a torch, skill, and artistry. Adorn your friends or yourself with her earrings, bracelets, pendants, and necklaces.
While Debbi Green is known for her original paintings (often of roosters, cows, or local sites), she has transformed some of her most popular images into prints starting at $39. She will also have small paintings, such as her bird-themed, six-by-six-inch paintings on wood panels. Come early because these have proven to be very popular. www. debbigreen.com.
Decorative and functional fused glass describes the work by Zoe Topsfield, who says, “Glass is not just about creating with form and color, but also about creating with light. It is multi-faceted, versatile: I can form a drinking glass, paint a landscape for a wall, or decide to turn the landscape into a centerpiece platter for a table. Infinite possibilities.” She will feature both functional glass plates and glasses, decorative wall hangings, whimsical Buddha heads, and flaming hearts. zoetopsfield.com.
World traveler and fine art photographer Felice Willat will have large and small prints of her “Lifescapes” for sale, as well as greeting cards featuring small archival pigment prints for $6.50, $50 and $250. felicewillatphotography.com.
Refreshments and good cheer will also be on hand to welcome former and new collectors. Come by and stay for a while with these local artists while solving some of your shopping needs in beautiful Topanga. We can’t wait to greet you.
