The Malibu Library and the City of Malibu are debuting a new Library Speaker Series featuring local authors.
“Showcase: Local Author Series,” is an extension of the Malibu Library Speaker Series and features published authors who live and write in Malibu.
The first panel discussion and book signing will take place at the Malibu Library on September 25, and features June Louks, author of A Malibu Mom’s Manifesto on Fresh, Whole Foods, and the Messenger Mountain News’ associate editor Suzanne Guldimann, author of Life in Malibu.
Louks’ writings “embody a healing lifestyle through a deep connection with our planet,” a press release for the event states, “A beekeeper who grows her own food, Louks is the co-founder of the Malibu Agricultural Society and is committed to the well-being and healing of families and communities.”
Guldimann’s book is a collection of essays on Malibu’s history, nature and culture, accompanied by the author’s original photography and archival images. It’s the product of the author’s 15 years as a journalist and freelance writer in and around Malibu and the Santa Monica Mountains.
Free to attend. Books by both authors will be available for purchase at the event.
