The Pacific Lodge, a division of the Optimist Youth Homes and Family Services in Woodland Hills, is holding its Seventh Annual Autumn Lunch Fundraiser on Saturday, November 3. This year’s theme is “Let’s Hear It for the Boys!”
This charitable non-profit organization was established in 1906 and chartered in 1934, with the mission to “provide innovative and individualized treatment, education and support services to children, young adults, and families to better their lives.”
It’s the largest provider of residential services to Probation youth in the state of California. The 10-acre Woodland Hills Lodge, located in a quiet, residential neighborhood, offers a wide range of services, including short term residential care for up to 51 boys, mostly referrals by county departments of probation.
The website for the Lodge states that trained therapists are assigned to each boy and formulate individualized treatment plans, along with youth care counselors, nurses, educators, psychiatrists, recreation staff, and chemical dependency counselors, who make up the core of our agency’s treatment team.
“Youth Care Counselors provide basic nurturing, structure and consistency of routine for the boys. Clients eat in a central dining hall and are accompanied by staff at all times.”
The Lodge also provides continuing “wrap-around” care once the residency program is complete.
The Lodge promises a fun-filled day of raffle prizes, a silent auction, lunch and a holiday boutique to help support the Pacific Lodge Campus of Optimist Youth Homes and Family Services.
Residents of the Lodge will read poetry and perform music. Proceeds from this special charity event directly benefit the programs and services Pacific Lodge provides for at-risk youth in California.
The Activity Center at Pacific Lodge is located at 4900 Serrania Avenue (at Dumetz), Woodland Hills, CA 91364. The event takes place on Saturday, November 3, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Lunch tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased here; or (818) 657-3128. Sponsorships, volunteers and donations are welcomed.
