As we enjoy this magical rainy season, it’s fitting that Topanga Youth Services will be presenting the classic Singin’ in the Rain Jr. at the Topanga Community Club March 29-31.
This production is based on the original screenplay by Betty Comden and Adolph Green with songs by Nacio Herb Brown and Arthur Freed.
Step back in time to 1927 Hollywood with Topanga’s own Caleb Briskman and Sierra Friday as Monumental Pictures’ biggest stars, Don Lockwood and Lina Lamont. Along with Eli Klemp as Cosmo Brown, Lockwood’s brilliant right-hand man; Cooper Boynton as award-winning film producer R.F. Simpson; and Mila Chapman as the ever charming Kathy Selden, they sing and dance their way through the making of Monumental’s first talking picture.
With boundless wit and talent, a delightful supporting cast of bright local actors join them
in bringing this timeless favorite to life again.
This year’s production is directed by Topanga Youth Services’ long-time fearless leader,
Karen Cooke. with musical direction by the amazing Summer Rona, and choreography by
Topanga’s one and only Kristy Beauvais.
Please support TYS, the TCC, and the fabulous cast and crew dancing and singing in the
rain.
