Counting to Ten…Emmys, That Is

The PBS travel show, “Travelscope,” hosted and directed by Topanga’s Joseph Rosendo, walked away with two Emmys from the Television Academy Creative Arts Awards, one for Directing and another for Hosting.

These were in addition to six Emmy awards for the show, itself, and two previous Emmys for hosting and directing.

Accepting the Directing award with her husband was the show’s producer, Julie Rosendo, who thanked PBS, “who gave us a home and creative control for over a decade.”

Accepting the award for Hosting “Travelscope,” Rosendo said, “Directing is about telling stories; hosting is about representing people and I am blessed to tell the stories of all these people around the world. While it seems this country wants to close doors, we’re about opening doors for people.” He went on to thank “our viewers, who are lifelong learners,” ending with a quote from Mark Twain: “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry and narrow mindedness.”

“We are so grateful to have the honor to prove him right,” Rosendo said.
