The Topanga Community Center is in the home stretch of fundraising for a new Senior Classroom Annex. The project has been guided from concept to permits by the Sages’ Building Committee headed by Susan Nissman, which is working alongside the TCC to see the annex come to fruition. TCC Board member and professional architect, Franka Diehnelt, designed the addition to meet the specific needs of the Sages and has waded through innumerable county and building department regulations.
For more than a decade there have been plans for the TCC to add a senior classroom, but it has never happened. This is the time to make it a reality. Your help is needed to raise the additional $100,000 necessary to get the project off the drawing board and break ground.
The annex will be located adjacent to the Penny Room and will offer Topanga’s seniors a place for classes and meetings that can be held simultaneously with larger events and classes held in the Community House.
In the spirit of the community alliances that built the Community House 70 years ago, and more recently the TCC ballfield and playground, this Senior Classroom Annex will continue to fulfill the TCC’s mission to serve all generations of Topangans.
